DNS (Domain Name Service) is an internet service that is necessary for your domain name to function. It can be compared to the postal service on the internet. It sends traffic to the right place when you visit a website or send an email.

A-record<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Connects your domain to an IPv4 address. It is typically used for the main domain or a subdomain on the same server.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

AAAA-record<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Links the domain to an IPv6 address. Same as the A record, but with the modern version of Internet addresses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

CNAME-record<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Creates shortcuts that point one domain to another domain. Often used for subdomains and www.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

MX-record<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Control where email for the domain is delivered, regardless of whether you use our email service or external services such as Gmail or Office365.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

NS-record<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Specifies which DNS servers the domain uses. Usually, you don’t need to change anything; we take care of everything automatically. However, this can be changed if necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

TXT-record<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes needed for verification and assurance of services, such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
