A NET domain name is a domain that ends in .net. It was one of the first top-level domains created in 1985, along with .com and .org. A NET domain name can be an alternative if the corresponding com or org domain is already registered. A NET domain can be registered for 1–10 years. There are no restrictions on who can register a NET domain name. Both individuals and organizations can register a NET domain.
