Terms of Purchase
1. General
These terms and conditions apply to the purchase of services from Hosting Finland (Business ID: 3550469-8). By placing an order in our online store, you agree to these terms and conditions. We provide hosting, domain names, and other IT-related services.
2. Prices and VAT
Prices in the online store are displayed excluding value-added tax (VAT) until you have created an account or identified yourself at checkout. For customers in Finland, Finnish VAT of 25.5% will be added. Businesses within the EU (outside Finland) can qualify for reverse charge (0% VAT) by entering a valid VAT registration number at checkout.
The base price for our services is always in EUR. If you choose to pay in any of the other currencies we support (SEK, NOK, DKK, or USD), the payment processor’s current exchange rate will apply. Any exchange rate differences or bank fees are the responsibility of the customer.
3. Customer Account and Verification
To purchase and manage services, you must register a user account. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the contact information provided is accurate and up to date. Email verification is required to complete payments and activate services.
4. Payment
Payments are processed securely through our payment processor, Stripe. Available payment methods include credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, MobilePay, PayPal, and Klarna (options may vary depending on the selected country, device, browser, and currency).
5. Right of Withdrawal
We want you to feel completely confident in your choice. That’s why we offer a 14-day right of withdrawal for all customers, whether you’re shopping as an individual or a business. The withdrawal period begins on the day the order is placed.
Exception for domain names: The right of withdrawal does not apply to the registration or renewal of domain names. Since these processes are fully automated and handled directly by the selected top-level domain, the service begins and is completed immediately upon placing the order. Therefore, the purchase cannot be canceled or refunded.
Exception for Dedicated Servers (VPS): If you rent a dedicated server or VPS, the right of withdrawal ceases to apply as soon as configuration begins. This is because specific server resources are reserved and the service is customized for your business immediately after your order is confirmed.
6. Term of the Agreement and Termination
You can cancel a service at any time during the current contract period through our customer portal.
No Refund for Early Termination: If a service that has been paid for in advance (for example, through annual billing) is terminated early, no refund or credit will be issued for the remaining contract period, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Cancellation at the end of the billing period: If you choose to cancel the service at the end of the billing period, the service will remain active and available until the end date of the current contract period, at which point the service will be terminated and the associated data will be deleted in accordance with our procedures.
Immediate Termination: If you choose to terminate the service with immediate effect, your access to the service will end immediately and any associated data will be deleted immediately. No compensation will be paid for the remaining time in the subscription period.
7. Limitation of Liability
Hosting Finland strives for the highest possible availability and reliability, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the services.
Under no circumstances are we liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss, lost revenue, or consequential losses that may arise as a result of technical problems or service interruptions. Our total liability for direct damages is, under all circumstances, limited to an amount equal to what the customer has paid for the relevant service over the past 12-month period.
The allocation of practical and legal liability is governed as follows:
Backups and Data Responsibility: As an additional security measure to protect your data, we provide automatic backups twice (2) a day as part of our hosting packages. However, the ultimate responsibility for maintaining your own external backups of your data always rests with the customer (unless otherwise agreed in writing).
Content and Compliance: The customer is solely responsible for all content published, stored, or transmitted via the hosting service, and for ensuring that such content fully complies with applicable laws, generally accepted practices, and current data protection regulations (GDPR).
Domain Names and Trademark Rights: When registering or renewing a domain name, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the name does not infringe on a third party’s trademark rights or otherwise violate the rules of the selected top-level domain.
8. Abuse and Suspension
We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts and services that abuse the platform, engage in malicious activities (such as spam or denial-of-service attacks), or violate Finnish law.
In the event of non-payment after a reminder, Hosting Finland has the right to temporarily suspend (shut down) the service. If payment is not received despite repeated reminders, we reserve the right to permanently delete the service and associated data.
9. Governing Law
Since Hosting Finland is a Finnish company, these terms and conditions shall always be interpreted and governed in accordance with Finnish law. In the unlikely event of a dispute that we are unable to resolve together, the matter shall be settled in a Finnish court.
